The Blueberry Farm is a family tradition for us. We go once a year and pick for several hours, and we usually get enough blueberries for muffins, pies and cobblers as well as some to freeze for smoothies and frozen snacks. Yum! This year I had five motivated helpers and we made a haul! Two gallons for the freezer and a half-gallon for the fridge!
Some things you might want to know before heading out to The Blueberry Farm:

*Go early to beat the heat and the rush. We got there at 9 this morning and it was great! There was a 10/10:30 rush, but by 11 it was calm again. I don't know if that's normal for week days or not, but that's how it was today (a Friday).
* Make sure you bring some grocery bags/baggies/buckets to take your berries home in. The blueberry farm provides buckets, but they need to be left there.
*These are BIG bushes! A lot of them are more like trees. A step stool might be a good idea if you want those biggest, sweetest completely ripened berries.
* There are a few places for the kiddos to play and hang out, but bringing a football or a frisbee is a good idea.
* There is a port-a-potty available for use as well as a water fountain and water to rinse hands and feet, but no restrooms.

* Paying at The Blueberry Farm is on the honor system, so bring cash or checks!

Enjoy the blueberries!
