Riverpoint (The Bug Park)

This park is not actually called the Bug Park, but it's what we call it, and believe me, the name fits in a really good way! "Riverpoint" is its technical name, and it's one of this author's favorite spots in Chattanooga. It rates hight for its creativity, uniqueness, schooling possibilities and of course, location.
PICNIC? yes!
SWIMSUIT? no
COST? none
AUTHOR'S RATING? five out of five stars
This is the perfect park for the spring and fall or any coolish day that you want to be outdoors without water near. Its got wide open places to run, a great biking trail (because it's part of the Tennessee Riverpark), and BUGS!
This is technically a "pathway for play" meaning that there are small play grounds (play pockets) spread along the walk that juts out from the main trail of the Riverwalk. Each of the five small play grounds is centered around a particular insect. You can read interesting facts about the insect and then pretend you are the insect!
I really don't want to share it all because this is one park that is so fun to discover on your own.
Spider

I definitely recommend bringing your bikes to this park--make this your only destination or bike here from another part of the Riverwalk.

It looks like there is a plan to expand the park to include a loop, rather than a dead end. Hooray!
